Marwa Hassoun has spent over 15 years helping companies navigate the exciting (and sometimes hair-raising) world where global trade laws intersect with geopolitics, and increasingly, geoeconomics. She specializes in transforming complex regulatory puzzles into actionable strategies that keep businesses moving forward.
Currently, Marwa leads the Global Trade Services legal team at TE Connectivity, an EU-based company that designs and manufactures electrical and electronic components used in almost every industry and make our connected world possible. With TE's footprint spanning 80 countries and customers in 140 countries, her team enjoys constant challenges.
Before joining TE, Marwa served as Trade & Compliance Associate General Counsel at Brooks Automation, helping the US semiconductor equipment company with global operations navigate emerging export controls on semiconductors and equipment. She also spent over a decade in private practice advising a diverse range of military and civilian clients—from aerospace companies to manufacturers of components for refrigerators—through the thorny landscape of export controls, sanctions, and cross-border compliance.
In her spare time, Marwa is committed to driving innovation in the legal field to modernize the practice of law and empowering practitioners to keep pace with the demands of a rapidly evolving global landscape.
