Margaret Harding
Margaret Harding is a 45-year veteran of the nuclear industry and an internationally recognized expert in nuclear export controls. She spent more than 25 years with GE Nuclear, working across fuel, services, engineering, quality, and management. Her roles ranged from reactor core and fuel design to senior leadership, including Vice President of Engineering Quality. She also led the fuel engineering team within Global Nuclear Fuel and served as a qualified NQA-1 lead auditor.
Margaret brings a strong process-improvement background to compliance. As an executive Six Sigma Master Black Belt, she has led complex efforts involving data, quality, process design, and organizational handoffs.
Since leaving GE, Margaret has developed NQA-1 programs and training, helped DOE/NNSA edit the final version of 10 CFR Part 810, designed export compliance programs for multinational nuclear companies, and advised nuclear startups on practical compliance systems. She also chaired the working group developing the proposed ANS 60.1 standard for civilian nuclear export controls under Parts 810 and 110. Her approach focuses on turning regulatory requirements into clear, workable processes that fit how nuclear organizations actually operate.
